Eduardo De La Riva is a 2012 RHP/SS with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Blue Island, IL who attends St. Rita HS. Slender young build, loose projectable frame. Hand drop turn and throw delivery, fairly fast paced, mid 3/4's slot with some extension, hides ball well in back. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, good running action, will throw 2-seamer at 82-84, gets on hitters quickly, will flatten out up in zone. Slurve type breaking ball, shows more definition between CB and SL warming up, CB flashes good depth, will occasionally shorten arm action throwing breaking ball. Rare change up. Loose arm with some projection, have seen up to 89 mph before.. Good student. Signed with Purdue.
