Justin Shafer is a 2011 RHP/OF/SS with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Lake Wales, FL who attends Lake Wales HS. Slender athletic build, some present strength. Standard leg raise delivery, long wrapped arm action, extended 3/4's release point. 86-88 mph fastball, very good sink at times, will drop lower on release for more movement, good curveball spin, sharp sweeping break, nice life on change up, pitches aggressively, pounds the strike zone. Two way player, good hitting tools. Spread no stride approach, long smooth swing, has bat speed, strong contact to all fields, has some lift to his swing. Should keep improving on both sides of the ball. Very good student, verbal commitment to Florida.
