2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Mike Fazy is a 5'10" left handed hitting first baseman from Illinois with very good present hitting skills. He has a very balanced, short approach at the plate and a solid line drive swing that produces consistent line drives. Fazy also has some present strength, as a 94 mph off the bat line drive showed. Fazy doesn’t project a lot physically, but he’s going to hit well at the college level and might even show some power with the aluminum bat. Fazy showed us good footwork and soft hands at first base, so he should handle that position well defensively. He also pitched a quick inning, getting three ground ball outs with a tailing 78 mph fastball. He’s a good one for the mid-level college coaches to pay close attention to. Mike is also a very strong student.
