Wild is an "05" RHP/OF from Plano, TX. At 6'2/185 he is athetic looking with both present strength and room to get bigger yet. We've seen him before so his performance was not a total surprise, but if anything he was better this time out. In Waco he threw very well, hitters were having a hard time making contact. He struck out most everyone he faced with a very good 86 mph fastball and a very good lively 2-seamer. He also threw a tight sharp breaking curveball and what looks like a good cutter or slider. We didn't see much of the changeup. He has nice smooth mechanics and his arm seems to work without tension. He has excellent command of all his pitches and works ahead of hitters. This kid can pitch! Michael is a good student and he will be throwing 90 before long. He's definitely a junior to keep a close eye on. He has a chance to develop into a draftable RHP by June 2005. He's already a DI prospect.

Michael Wild -- Wild is a 6-2 junior right handed pitcher from Texas with a slim upper half and good strength to his hips and thighs. He showed us a very strong feel for pitching and threw 5 innings because he kept his pitch counts down and got quick outs. Wild threw his fastball 80-82 mph from a standard ¾’s release but would occasionally drop down to side arm with the same velocity and command to give hitters a different look. Wild’s curveball was a quality pitch at 68 mph with good depth and tilt to it and he threw it for strikes frequently early in counts. He also threw a 69-71 mph change up. This young man can really pitch and could be very successful at the next level if he can add just a little more velocity. Michael is a good runner with an athletic type body and he shows hitting potential. He's a very good student.
