Ben Legath is a 2012 RHP/1B with a 6-1 202 lb. frame from Johnstown, PA who attends Westmont Hilltop. Strong lean athletic build. Arm works well, showed good present arm strength. Good athleticism and body control in delivery, good command. Fastball has life to it, arm projects, more in there. Online delivery with good lower half use, gets downhill some but could use sharper angle. Curveball has good bite and some feel to pitch, very solid #2 pitch at present, also showed developing Changeup. Good bat speed at the plate, hand hitch to load prevented him from getting most out of hitting tools at the event but with an adjustment could also be a high level hitter. Showed potential to hit for power. Good student. Interesting prospect to follow.
