Michael Belfiore is a 2006 outfielder/left handed pitcher from Commack, New York, with a tall and lean 6'2"/190 pound frame. Michael is a right handed hitter that hits from a straight stance with a good approach at the plate. He has good hands and very good bat speed. Belfiore showed excellent raw power and hits the ball hard. He has a strong arm from the outfield and good actions and reactions defensively. He uses his speed (6.95-60) to his advantage in the field. As a left handed pitcher, he Belfiore throws from a 3/4 arm slot with loose and easy arm action. He has good arm speed and an effortless delivery. He stays online and balanced throughout. Michael's fastball was 84 mph and his 11-5 breaking curveball was 71 mph. He is an excellent two-way prospect and a must follow.

Belfiore is a strong and athletic 6-3, 195 lb outfielder from New York. He's a reverse platoon player who throws left handed but hits from the right side. Belfiore ran 7.07 at North Carolina and we've had him in the 6.8 range earlier this summer. He has very good speed and mobility for his size. He didn't throw from the outfield at UNC because he was pitching later but he has a plus arm and can play any outfield position with college level to above tools. Offensively, Belfiore shows very good power potential at the plate. He has good bat speed and extends through the ball well, although he can get long at times. The ball jumps off his bat with some authority and he's shown us he will hit to all fields. Belfiore isn't a polished hitter at this point but all the tools are there to develop. He also shows some promise on the mound, although he is also raw there. We had him up to 84 mph in North Carolina on his fastball with good life and a very loose, quick arm. If he dedicated himself to pitching, Belfiore could become a top level Division I prospect, but we prefer him as a position player. He's a good student as well.

Michael Belfiore is a 2006 outfielder/left handed pitcher from Commack, NY with a strong athletic build at 6-3, 195 lbs. He's an unusual player in that he hits righthanded and throws left handed. Belfiore has excellent raw physical tools. He ran the 60 in 6.72, very impressive for his size, and threw 86 mph from the outfield. Belfiore is a very good defensive outfielder with smooth defensive actions and a good glove. At the plate, Belfiore hits from a wide stance with no stride and good balance through his swing. He does a very good job of extending through the ball, which equates to big time power in the future. Belfiore has very good bat speed and very good overall hitting fundamentals. He's just beginning to scratch the surface of his overall offensive potential. Pitching is secondary right now but Belfiore would also rank as a left handed pitching prospect. He has a smooth, easy delivery and throws a live fastball up to 87 mph. With his arm looseness and size and athletic ability, he projects huge as a pitcher. Belfiore is a very good student who has decided to stay in the Northeast and attend Boston College.
