Costanzo is a 5-11, 175 lb outfielder from Ohio with some present strength in his upper body. He ran the 60 in 7.90 on the slow track and threw 74 mph in the outfield during workouts. Costanzo profiles as a left fielder and has also played some first base in the past. He hits from a wide stance with little load or stride and has some back side collapse in his swing. Costanzo uses his strength to generate some good bat speed and showed good power in batting practice, including hitting a home run on the Red Sox minor league field with big league dimensions. Costanzo has some effort in his swing and was a bit longer and more out of control against live pitching but he has some potential. He also showed a hustling type attitude on the field and played hard. Keep an eye on this kid. Good student!
