Matt Clark is a 2005 LHP/1B from McDonough, Georgia with a strong frame at 6'2", 185 lbs. Clark has a quick and easy arm. He throws from a 3/4 slot with a high leg kick. Clark gets good late life on his fastball that touched 90 mph in his first inning of work. Clark's velocity did drop during his second and third innings of work (84-88), but that is to be expected in January. He worked fast and attacked hitters. His release point was inconsistent on his curveball, and he was rushing his body to the plate. Clark definitely has a quick arm with present arm strength. At the plate, he has good bat speed with big power potential. He does pull off some pitches trying to do too much, but he does have raw power. Clark is a strong LHP with a live arm and big hitting potential.

Matt Clark is a strong 6'2/185 LHP from McDonough, GA. Clark throws almost all fastballs, mostly in the 88-89 mph area, but he forced some of the worst looking swings we saw at Tropicana. He hides the ball very well, has a quick arm and excellent MLB life on his FB. He has nice mechanics and hides the ball well before releasing with a quick short arm stroke. His CB looked promising though he didn't throw too many of them. He has a chance to be one of the very top lefties in the class. Matt is a good student.

Matt Clark -- Clark was one of the best prospects at the World Underclass. He’s a 6-2 left hander with a slim athletic body and plenty of projection. Clark has a smooth, easy delivery with good use of his leg and hips and a very loose, quick arm. His fastball was 84-86 mph with hard tailing life on occasion and Clark wasn’t afraid to throw both left handed and right handed hitters inside. Clark’s curveball was a 70-72 mph hammer that has a chance to be a strikeout pitch at the next level and he also threw a 75 mph change up that had good tailing action. Clark has a feel for all his pitches and threw strikes and generally made hitters look bad through his 4 innings of work. There’s plenty more in this arm in the future. Matt is a good student who will receive major recruiting interest from the highest level colleges. Possible good draft pick in 2005.
