Matt Monastero is a 5'10" solidly built outfielder from New York with some present strength in his swing. He generates good bat speed and has sound swing mechanics with his hands and upper body. Monastero does tend to pull off the ball with his lower body but hit a number of balls right on the nose during BP and in games. He projects out as a power hitting corner outfielder and has very good arm strength. He runs well with excellent baseball instincts. Should be very good at the next level. Does a lot of things real well. He's also a very good student.
