Mark Thomas is a 2006 C/OF/3B with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from Alpharetta GA, who attends Blessed Trinity HS. We hadn't seen much of Thomas prior to this event but were very, very impressed by what we did see. Thomas has an athletic body and is projectable. He ran a very quick 7.17 60 for a catcher and has good quickness in all his actions. Thomas lit it up in catching drills, throwing 82 mph with a best pop time of 1.81. Those are professional level marks. He showed nice footwork behind the plate during games with quickness in his shifting and release. Offensively, Thomas has very goood bat speed with an upper cut swing. He's looking to hit the ball a long way and has the tools to do it. Thomas his a couple of home runs in BP, including one that easily went 400 feet plus, and showed explosive bat speed at times. He can really turn on the inside pitch well. Thomas is going to get plenty of pro scouting attention if he continues to show his tools at this level. Top Level National Follow.
