Brian Mackin is a 2011 1B/RHP with a 6'1'', 235 lb. frame from Ft Myers, FL who attends Ft Myers HS. Big frame, broad shoulders and hips, has present strength. Moves well around the bag at 1B, fields well coming off, hands work, accurate throws across. Simple approach at plate, nice short swing and repeats hitting mechanics, shows strength to the pullside, stays balanced, line drive contact with power potential. Good presence on mound, works very quickly, smooth mechanics, works down in the zone, armside run on FB, gets groundballs, SL is developing and shows good sweeping action.
