2003 South Top Prospect Showcase
Gillihan is a 5 foot 9 outfielder with a strong arm and plus outfield actions. He did not show Major League level centerfield speed, but did show a good corner outfielders arm. It was clocked at 85 mph and carried to the bag even better than the velocity appears. His actions were short, precise, and his crow hop was quick with an easy transition. He showed some of the best defensive actions out there. With the bat he showed a good flat swing through the zone and some power for his size. He hit the ball hard and even legged out a broken bat single in one game. He also showed some arm strength from the mound throwing 83 mph with a 70 mph curveball and changing speeds. He knows how to play and has lots of projection left in him.!
