Blake Smith is a 2011 RHP/MIF with a 6-1 140 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Lafayette. With loose arm action, a quick tempo and a good downhill angle Smith was very effective on the mound. Showed a hard 11-5 Curveball that is a plus secondary pitch. Drove the ball down to the bottom corners of the strike zone and had good deception to his delivery, Fastball was not overpowering but had good late sink to it and set up Curveball well. Thin frame projects to fill out and add strength, projects to add velocity. Arm was an asset in infield as well, solid hitting tools. Interesting pitching prospect.

Lean athletic build, room to fill out some and add strength, clean compact arm action on the mound, hides the ball well, good armside run on fastball, arm is loose and quick, good extension out front, curveball flashes tight spin and good bite, good cut action on fastball, live arm, switch-hitter that looks a little better from the left side, good swing path, barrells up well, hitting tools project with added strength, accurate infield arm, hands works, clean actions, strong student.
