2004 Underclass National Showcase
Andy Balentine -- Balentine is a 5-9, 200 lb. stocky and strong Junior right hander who lists himself as a primary pitcher. He threw 75-78 mph on his fastball with some good late boring and sinking action. Balentine’s curveball was 65 mph with a wide break and he threw some 69 mph cutters that had deceptive break to them. He's very much a breaking ball pitcher. Balentine has hand and upper body strength that he uses with the bat but has no load or lower half involvement in his swing. Only a junior, we don't believe we saw him on one of his better days.
