Keith Towne is a 6'1", 210 lb. left handed hitting first baseman from Katy, Texas. He has a presently strong body. Towne showed good ability and balance around first base and looks to be a very good defensive player. Towne’s bat shows some serious potential. He has some wrap and length to his swing, but uses his hand strength well and develops very good bat head speed. Towne showed the ability to use the entire field and hit the ball deep in the zone and still drive it hard. He could develop even more extension at the point of contact, but does get extended out front. Overall, his bat looks like it easily plays at the next level, and being a big strong left handed hitter with some defensive skills helps, too. Definitely a high level college prospect and Keith is a good student.
