Colyn O'Connell is a 2012 RHP with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from Dunedin, FL who attends Dunedin HS. Tall, slender build, room to get stronger. Cross body delivery, back leg collapse, compact high 3/4's arm slot, arm works well but lacks leverage on release, tends to fall off. Steady 87-89 mph fastball, mostly straight. Three quality off-speed pitches, slider has good bite and depth with nice tilt, rare curveball but has hard downer spin and bite, can spin the ball. Nice change up with arm speed and deception. Good feel for changing speeds and shaping the ball, works backwards and to his strengths. Delivery adjustments should improve fastball but might hinder off speed, feel and deception. Has present pitchability.
