Justin Bass is a 2007 middle infielder/third baseman from Sugar Land, TX with a medium athletic build at 5'11", 170 pounds. He is a switch hitter with a similar approach from both sides. He hits from a crouched stance with a good load and a balanced stride. He has a short compact swing and he is quick to the ball with good bat speed. He makes solid contact and he showed gap level power with a line drive swing plane. He is a good all around athlete and he ran a 7.30 in the 60, and a 4.38 home to first. Defensively, he showed good range to both sides, and he has a quick first step with good instincts. He has a strong arm at 82 mph across the infield with a quick release and good accuracy. He has good tools and he will be a top level prospect for 2007. Justin is a good student.
