Julio Parra is a solidly built 5'11/200 catcher from Venezuela. He is a free agent. He is a very polished defensive catcher with a quick strong accurate arm and very good feet. He even runs fairly well. His receiving ability and quickness behind the plate are definitely pro level and he shows leadership skills. He hits very well with a short line drive swing. He hit several hard line drives against the high level pitching in Tropicana Field. He's strong, durable and shows a very good overall feel for the game. He deserves a shot in pro ball.
