Joseph Miranda is a 2007 3B/1B with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Maryville TN, who attends Maryville HS. He has a strong build, particularly in the upper half. Miranda hits with low hands and has backward body movement to get his bat going. This takes away some of the potential bat speed that his strong body could generate. Miranda does a good job of keeping his swing short and makes consistent contact to all fields. He has some lift at the end of his swing, especially on inside pitches, and could occasionally show a bit of loft power. Defensively, Miranda has good hands and clean actions defensively. He's a step by step fielder who will have to improve his overall quickness and speed to compete at the next level as the game gets faster. Miranda is a very good student.
