James Needy is a 2009 RHP/IF with a 6'6'', 195 lb. frame from Santee, CA who attends Santana. James is a very tall pitcher with a powerful right arm. He gets excellent movement on a fastball that sat 90-92 at the Metrodome. Needy has a four pitch mix including a 84 mph cutter. His curveball showed lots of potential and his change has fade at 76mph. James projects large. He could jump way up the charts by next June's draft. He is a good student and a definite must follow for MLB crosscheckers.
