Jeremy Gould is a 2006 left handed pitcher/first baseman from Houston, TX with a good body at 6-3, 185 lbs. Gould throws from a high 3/4's to overhand release point with an upper body dominant delivery that shows some effort on release but that also shows good arm speed. Gould's fastball was 85-87 mph and very straight for a left hander due to his high release point. His curveball was 75 mph and was sharp with good depth at times. His 80 mph change up had some sink to it. Gould also has prospect level tools at first base and could undoubtedly play the outfield as well. He's a 6.88 runner. He hits from a tall stance with a power swing with some lift and extension in it. The ball jumps off his bat on contact. Gould is an excellent student who has signed to go to Duke, where he has a chance to be a two way prospect and develop both sides of his game.

Jeremy Gould is a 2006 left handed pitcher from Houston, Texas, who is also a solid prospect as a power hitting first baseman. He’s very advanced for his age in his knowledge of pitching. Gould has a full windup with a long, extended arm circle in back that upper level pitching coaches might want to shorten up a bit. With his long arm stroke and high leg kick the hitter is seeing lots of things aside from the ball. Gould has a high ¾ release point and has a very good downward angle to his pitches. Gould’s fastball was 84-86 mph with good running action. He threw a 76-78 mph change up that was a good pitch, and a 72 mph curveball that had fair spin and bite and some downer action. Gould mixed up his pitches and locations well to strike out 5 hitters in 2 innings. We’ve seen him have similar success in WWBA team events. Don’t discount Gould as a hitter, either. He has some strength for his size and some power potential. Like his pitching style, Gould does a very good job athletically of maintaining his leverage and using his natural strength and size.
