2007 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Jordell Farquharson is a 2008 RHP with a 6'3'', 190 lb. frame from Mississauga, ON who attends John Fraser SS. He has a long and lean build with extra long arms and legs and plenty of strength projection. Scouts will have a positive first impression of him on the mound. Farquharson's delivery is well paced and pretty consistent and his arm comes through cleanly with little stress. His stuff is very inconsistent, however. Farquharson warms up at 86-87 mph on his fastball but rarely gets above 84 mph against hitters and is often 78-80 mph. He throws a lot of off speed pitches and tries to spot his fastball on the outside corner like a finesse pitcher. Farquharson's curveball topped out at 68 mph with good shape to hit but he could throw it much harder and create a sharper bite. His change up has good life to it at times. What Farquharson needs to do is rear back and throw the ball hard and then figure out how to spot his pitches and he's been told this by his coaches. He has a high ceiling physically if he can make the necessary adjustments in his approach to pitching.
