Jason Cunningham -- Cunningham is a lean 6-1 junior left hander with a projectable body and solid legs and hips. He has an easy, balanced on line delivery which maximizes his ability to throw strikes and spot the ball with all his pitches. Cunningham’s arm works very well. His fastball topped out at 82 mph during 3 innings of work with nice tailing action to it. Cunningham maintained his stuff well. His breaking ball was a sweeping slurve at 72 mph and he threw a good sinking change up at 71-73 mph. Cunningham can pitch right now and it’s just a matter of his getting stronger and adding some more velocity to reach his potential. He’s also an incredible student with some of the most impressive academic credentials we’ve seen in a while. The Ivy League schools should be all over this young man. However he will be a mid to better 80s lefty who can really pitch. So everyone is going to get interested.
