Andrew Deal is a 2008 RHP/3B that attends LC Bird HS and resides in Chester, VA with a 5'10", 180 lb. frame. Andrew has an athletic build with a solid all-around game. At the plate Andrew has a line-drive swing plane with solid bat speed. He has an aggressive approach and for the most part keeps his hands inside the ball well. In the field Andrew has very solid tools for a third baseman. He showed a strong accurate arm with a good release and clean actions in the field. On the mound Andrew has a very live arm and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. His fastball is deceptive and he does a good job of coming inside on hitters. Andrew's off-speed pitches are quite advanced with a good two-plane 12 to 6 CB and a good straight CH. He has good athleticism in his delivery but gets a little jerky and needs to work on repeating his delivery some. Andrew is a solid two-way prospect with strong grades that should attract the attention of many mid-level college programs.

Andrew Deal is a 2008 RHP from Chester, Virginia. Deal has a tall and lean frame at 5'10", 140 lbs., with good arm action. He has very long arms and sloped shoulders, and has a body that should fill out nicely. Deal's fastball topped out at 75 mph, while mixing in a curveball at 62 mph, and a change up at 68. He uses an extended 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed, and good glove side help in his delivery. Deal has an in line stride with a slight jumping action to his landing foot. He is very good looking player for his age, and does show slight effort in his delivery that we feel will lessen as he gets stronger. He shows good command of his fastball and curveball, however, he needs more consistent spin on his curveball. Deal is a very good looking young player to keep an eye on.
