Boone Seamster is a 2008 RHP with a 6'1'', 165 lb. frame from Ruffin, NC who attends Bartley Yancey HS. He has a slender, young build with some length to him. Seamster throws from a well paced and balanced delivery up until right before he releases the ball. At that point he drops his elbow with some backside collapse thrown in and ends up pushing the ball with his body out of sync to his arm. It's hard to say how much he could improve by staying tall and keeping his arm/elbow up. Seamster's fastball was 75-78 mph and pretty straight. His best off speed pitch was a 71 mph slider than had some sharpness to it occasionally. Seamster's curveball was a victim of his low elbow, there is nothing he can do but cast it out there with weak spin. He also threw a couple of low 70's change ups. Seamster had a similar arm action while playing infield. He showed some bat head skills at the plate but will need to get stronger to develop real bat speed.
