2007 Mid Atlantic Underclass Showcase
JJ McDaniel is a 2011 3B/P/IF with a 5'7'', 135 lb. frame from Stafford, VA who attends Brooke Pointe. JJ has a medium build with a good amount of room and time to add strength. At the plate JJ has good present strength and the tools to hit, but needs to make some adjustments in his approach. He tends to get long in his swing path and lunge in on pitches. Once he works on staying back and improving his leverage he should see a lot of improvement. In the field JJ has clean actions with an accurate arm. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound and gets nice armside run on his fastball. JJ is a young prospect that should attract the attention of some colleges as he gets older.
