Graham Stoneburner is a 2006 SS/RHP from Mills Godwin HS in Richmond, VA, with a 6'1", 170 lb. frame. He's one of the top 2-way prospects in the country and did nothing at the National Showcase but to prove that he's improved his skills and tools both at shortstop and as a right handed pitcher. Stoneburner really stood out in the drills, running the 60 in 6.50 and showing a cannon arm at shortstop at 91 mph. Stoneburner is a calm, deliberate fielder who is aware of his arm strength and doesn't rush plays. He gets his feet in position to make plays and has soft, sure hands. Offensively, Stoneburner does a very good job of keeping his hands inside the ball, which results in plenty of pop up the middle and to the right side of the field. He has some lift in his swing and has enough bat speed to get the ball up the gaps easily. As a pitcher, Stoneburner shows the same type of arm strength as he does in the field. He has a long arm action and full arm circle and standard 3/4's release point. His fastball topped out at 91 mph and his 76 mph curveball showed good sharpness and bite. Stoneburner is an excellent student whose brother played at the highest levels of college baseball as well. He's committed to Clemson but the pro scouts will find him difficult not to pay attention to next spring.

Graham Stoneburner -- Stoneburner is a highly projectable sophomore right handed pitching prospect from Virginia. He’s 6-0, 165 now but has a very nice frame that’s going to grow and add strength. Stoneburner’s top physical tool is his arm strength. He threw 86 mph across the diamond in infield practice and touched 86 mph from the mound, very impressive velocity for a young player. Stoneburner’s best secondary pitch is a change up at 74-76 that he has good feel for. His breaking ball is a 75-76 mph slurve that he’ll get under sometimes and it will stay flat, but Stoneburner has plenty of time and arm speed to learn a good breaking ball. Not surprisingly for a good athlete, Stoneburner threw all 3 of his pitches for consistent strikes. Stoneburner is a very good runner. His bat and his footwork defensively are still on the raw side but he’s well worth watching as a position prospect as he matures as well. Stoneburner is a very good student.
