Dillon Checkal is a 2008 middle infielder with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from San Diego, CA, who attends Santa Fe Christian HS. Checkal has a medium frame with athleticism. He plays hard and shows great hustle at all times. Defensively he has range to both sides with solid footwork. He showed better actions during the games shows soft hands. He was also always in proper position showing good knowledge of the game. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from an open and narrow stance. Checkal uses a leg lift trigger with a high back elbow. He shows bat speed with a line drive swing plane. Checkal centers the ball making consistent contact. He hits the ball to all fields, at slaps ball other way. Once on the bases he hustles with instincts and the ability to take the extra base. He is a good student as well.
