2007 Mid Atlantic Underclass Showcase
Jacob Sullivan is a 2009 RHP/1B/3B/OF with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Fredericksburg, VA who attends Fredericksburg Christian. Jacob has a lean athletic build with room to fill out. On the mound Jacob throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long two-piece arm action that produces good run on his fastball. Jacob really challenges hitters and has feel for a 10 to 4 curveball. He needs to work on finishing better to the plate as his really seemed to effect his command. At the plate Jacob shows some bat speed and is primarily a contact hitter at this point. He tends to swing around the ball and his swing will get too long. Jacob will need to improve his leverage and shorten up quit a bit. In the field Jacob is solid around the bag at first with clean actions. Jacob is a solid student that could attract the attention of some smaller colleges.
