2007 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Joe Borowicz is a 2008 OF/3B with a 6'0'', 205 lb. frame from Flushing, Michigan, who attends Flushing High School. Borowicz has a good frame with present strength. He has solid speed in the sixty (7.03) and moves well for his size. Defensively he has an accurate arm from the outfield with sound actions. Borowicz also played other positions during the showcase games showing position flexibility. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a slightly open stance with weight lean on his back leg. He has strong hands hitting with a short swing. The ball jumps off his bat, when he centers the ball showing projectable power. He gets leverage at the point of contact. He takes aggressive swings, but still tracks pitches well and doesn't swing at pitches out of the zone. Borowicz is a good student with upside to his game.
