Salvatore Pezzino is a 2008 SS/2B with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from S. Huntington, NY who attends Walt Whitman HS. He has a slender build with a young look to him and has some physical projection. Pezzino is a confident player who has strong fundamental skills. He knows how to hit and handle the bat head from the left side. He starts his swing with low hands and shows some bat quickness and the ability to hit line drives to all fields. He mad adjustments to different pitch types and velocities and took good game swings. He should continue to develop as he gets stronger. Defensively, Pezzino showed good balance and a quick release and approached the ball with confidence. His arm strength is a bit short right now but he compensates with his actions and fundamentals. As a left handed hitting middle infielder, Pezzino has some advantages and he looks like a high performance player. He is also an outstanding student.
