Derek Wisnieski is an extra big first baseman/catcher from Pennsylvania who appears much taller than his listed 6'4" height. Wisnieski moves pretty well for his size, running the 60 in 7.19 and showing some agility defensively. He’s obviously strong but his batting approach effectively takes away his power potential. Wisnieski comes off the ball with his front shoulder and top hand very early and while he makes consistent contact and had a couple of game hits, he doesn’t generate the type of bat speed that he’s capable of physically. Derek is also a very strong student.
