Carson Goldsmith is a 2009 C/IF with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Austin HS. He has a slender build with long limbs for his size and minimal present strength. Goldsmith threw 75 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.05. He has nice raw arm strength but needs work on his throwing fundamentals and accuracy. He received the ball comfortably during the games. Goldsmith hits with high hands at the plate and a pull back load and some drift towards the pitcher, all of which created a long swing path to the ball. He made consistent contact to the middle of the field but will have to add strength and shorten his swing to improve his hitting. Goldsmith is a hard worker on the field and an excellent student off the field.
