Dellin Betances is a 2006 right handed pitcher from New York City, NY with a very tall slender build at 6-9, 215 lbs. He's grown about 3" in the last 6-8 months and there's no telling when he'll stop growing. Betances has a deliberate delivery with a full hip turn and does a nice job of staying tall and creating leverage to the plate. He does tend to drift to home occasionally, but his arm works easily and smoothly. Betances fastball was 91-93 mph with some running action to it. His curveball has quality spin at 75 mph and a big sweeping break but is a bit inconsistent right now. Surprisingly, Betances 83 mph change up was a pretty nice pitch and had nice sink to it. Betances projects through the roof and he already has three very good pitches that are all going to keep getting better. He should get top of the draft consideration by the pro scouts. Highest level prospect.
