Jackson Campbell is a 2017 C/OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Russellville, KY who attends Logan County. Medium frame with an athletic build. Frame projects for additional size and strength. Ran a 6.58 sixty yard dash. Primary catcher, shows a quick paced tempo while working out of crouch and transfer. Receives baseball at a slightly taller position. Produces good momentum to the bag while gaining ground. Clean glove to hand exchanges with developing accuracy. Releases with a high energy arm action topping at 79 mph, best workout pop time of 1.95. Shows best mix of arm strength and quickness when receiving the baseball at a deeper position and working through transfer with fluidity. Right handed hitter with a spread, straight stance and close front foot. Creates some linear shift into contact with lower half. Shows a naturally lofted swing plane while swinging with intent to drive the baseball deep into the gaps. Flashes the barrel and hand control to work to all fields when balanced through finish. Has present bat speed and jump off barrel when creating separation at load and attacking baseball with a smooth hand path. Good student. Named to 2016 Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect List.
