Mateo Martinez is a 2019 C/3B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Wichita, KS who attends Campus High Haysville. Big and strong thick build, especially in the lower half. Right handed hitter, short shift into contact, will occasionally dip his front side into contact, has strength in his swing and the ball jumps well when squared, can create back spin, works gap to gap and handles the barrel well. 7.12 runner, gets low receiving and has lower half flexibility, compact arm and release, fundamentally sound in his actions. Good student, signed with Wichita State.
