Ward Hacklen is a 2017 OF with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Irmo, SC who attends Dutch Fork HS. Big broad shouldered, high waisted build, has present strength and the potential for plenty more. Right handed hitter, spread stance, shifts to his front side with limited lower half use, rotational swing, hands stay short to the ball for a tall player with a power approach, gets open and is looking to pull and lift, big power potential and shows his strength. Runs well for his size at 6.75, tends to throw uphill from the outfield, arm strength still developing, left field/first base profile. Good student, verbal commitment to Clemson.
