Chris Altopiedi is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Bryn Mawr, PA who attends Archbishop John Carroll HS. Thick and strong build, fairly mature physically. Rotational multi-part delivery, has deception but will get off line with his upper body at times, medium length arm action, some effort on release. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, big early tailing life at times, will cut occasionally when pitching to his glove side. Slider showed good quality in the mid-70's, has late biting action with some depth. Threw strikes with both his fastball and slider and challenged hitters. Still developing feel for his change up, threw two soft curveballs in warm ups but did not use in games. Showed good athleticism and arm strength at first base on defense. Long left handed swing with an uphill plane, looks to pull and lift. Good student, signed with LaSalle.
