Johnny Tuccillo is a 2017 C/OF with a 5-10 163 lb. frame from Clinton Corners, NY who attends Stissing Mountain High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength that's well proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 5.07 40-yard dash. Primary catcher, high end actions behind the plate, explodes out of the crouch and gains solid ground with lower half. Repeats overall actions well, compact arm action with plus arm strength and carry down to second base, solid catch and throw skills with accuracy down to second base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread and open stance in the box. Strides into contact well and incorporates lower half well, occasionally drifts to front side early but shows solid bat speed and timing. Quick hands with a line drive swing plane, strength to either gap and hard line drive contact coming off the barrel. Verbal commitment to Stony Brook. Named to Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List. Good student.
