2004 Indoor Pitchers/Catchers Showcase
David Wagner: Wagner is a senior left hander from Washington with a large frame and a very good idea of how to pitch. He throws from a standard ¾’s release point most of the time but will drop down to low ¾’s and even sidearm at times to give hitters a different look. Wagner’s best pitch is a nice 71-73 mph change up that he used aggressively in the zone to get outs. His fastball topped out at 79 mph and had the same nice life as the change up. Wagner also threw a 67 mph curveball. As long as he’s throwing that change up aggressively for strikes, Wagner is going to be able to get outs at any college level. His brother was a fast armed flame throwing RHP, David is a finesse lefty. He's going to win a lot of games.
