David Sharp is a 2006 outfielder/right handed pitcher from Pusch Ridge Christian HS in Tucson, AZ, with a 6'1", 170 lb. frame. Offensively he is a right handed hitter with an average base with good bat speed. He is a contact hitter who uses the whole field with adjustability in his hands and wrists. Sharp is short to the ball, and turns well on the inside pitch. Defensively he has athletic actions with confident hands who trusts his ability in the field. He is aggressive towards the ball and wants to get the ball. Sharp showed an accurate arm with solid carry from the outfield. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 to high 3/4 arm slot with a balanced delivery. His best pitch was a 62 mph split finger pitch with good sink and depth. His fastball topped out at 75, and he struck out three hitters in his four innings of work.

David is a 2006 grad from Tucson, Arizona with a tall, lean body and a plenty of room to add strength. He is a graceful athlete with good running speed who showed us very good defensive ability in the games. He made one spectacular catch and consistently showed a strong, accurate arm with a quick release. David hits from a calm set up with still hands and limited lower body load. He uses his leverage well to develop bat speed and shows some loft and power potential. He should keep improving with added strength. David also took a turn on the mound and threw 76 mph without the arm action he had from the outfield. David is a good student and he should attract the attention of the college coaches.
