Marney is a 6-2, 215 lb junior right handed pitcher from Kansas with a big frame. He throws from a full, multi-part delivery with several very unusual lower body movements that are hard to describe. His mechanics seem to affect both his command and his ability to hold runners on and control the running game. Marney’s fastball was in the 76-79 mph range and was fairly straight. He had a good loose arm action in back and could gain some velocity as he matures. He also threw a 65-68 mph curveball.
