Harley Thompson is a 2008 RHP with a 6'5'', 210 lb. frame from Champlin, MN, who attends Champlin Park HS. Thompson has a nice body that is lean and projectable with present strength. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an extended arm action. He has good arm speed that helps produce an 85 mph fastball with arm side run. He gets good downhill action and spots his fastball well. Thompson mixes in a 70 mph curveball with solid depth, and a sinking change with good action at times. He has projectable velocity, and with his body, he has good upside on the mound. At the plate he showed some of the best raw power in batting practice than anyone in attendance. He is an aggressive hitter who gets great leverage at contact. He can drive the ball a long way making him a two-way prospect that needs to be followed. He is a good student as well.
