David Murphy is a 6' 166 pound 2007 third baseman and shortstop from Westbrook High School in Beaumont, Texas who was named to the Top Prospect Team. He has an athletic body that is very lean. David hits with an open stnace that is balanced and he has a quiet set up. He has quick hands and a line drive swing plane. He is very aggressive at the plate and makes strong hard contact to all fields. Murphy showed good arm strength by throwing 82 mph across the infield during the workout. He has good soft hands and smooth actions. He has quick reactions and is a solid defensive player. David is a good all around athlete who is also an excellent student.
