Travis McComack is a 2008 MIF with a 5'8'', 160 lb. frame from Desoto MO, who attends Desoto HS. He has a shorter frame but has good overall strength and athletic hop and actions. McCormick was one of the few non catcher/pitcher's at the event but it was worth it to see him hit, as he was one of the most impressive hitters at the showcase. McCormick has a short, line drive swing plane and very quick hands to the ball. He likes pitches on the inside half of the plate but can take pitches to the opposite field as well. The key to McCormick's hitting ability is in his hands. His lower half and feet tend to get off balance occasionally which causes him to pull off the ball. We've seen McCormick at other events and he's a very good all around prospect with arm strength and speed. He is committed to Missouri State.
