Jack Golek is a 2008 C with a 5'11'', 205 lb. frame from Barrington, IL who attends Barrington. Jack has a thick build with present strength. He has a great frame behind the plate and is a good target for his pitcher. He has soft hands, and moves well laterally. He can block and receive and makes a quick transfer. One of the better athletes behind the plate at this showcase, and puts his throws on the bag at second. His has some arm strength and his throws flash carry. He has a very aggressive swing at the plate with good bat speed. He hits from a medium base with his hands set at his shoulder, and he uses a short load. He looks to pull the ball, and he looks to drive it out of the park. Occasionally he will have a slight uppercut in his swing, but when he keeps his path flat he can produce hard contact. He is a hard worker and a good athlete behind the plate. Jack is also a good student.
