Stephen Oswald is a 2008 1B/3B/OF/P with a 6'4'', 200 lb. frame from Richmond VA, who attends Douglas Freeman. Oswald has a big strong body with a high waist. Defensively, Oswald has arm strength and throws with a long arm action. He makes accurate throws from both first base and the outfield. He sets up to ball well at first base and has smooth quiet actions. Oswald is a big target at first base with his 6'4" body. At the plate, Oswald starts with an open stance and takes an early stride to start his swing. He swings on a nice path and generates good bat speed through the zone. Oswald has leverage in his swing at contact and has good power potential. He has good hand eye coordination as he centers the ball up consistently well. He will hit for more power as he learns to swing with more balance through his swing. The ball jumps off his bat and will really hit for some power if he can put it all together. Oswald is a good student.
