Cody Koback is a 2008 RHP with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Plover WI, who attends SPASH HS. He is a live bodied athlete with a slender, projectable frame. He ran 6.83 in the 60 to show his speed and athletic ability. Koback opened some eyes during defensive drills, throwing 88 mph from the outfield with very good carry and accuracy. He wasn't able to take that arm strength to the mound however. Koback's delivery is sound and balanced. Where he runs into problems is that he has a high, severe wrap in the back of his arm action that effects his entire arm action up to his release, which is extended and smooth out front. Koback's fastball was 81-83 and his 75 mph slider had very tight spin and bite at times. Arm actions are tricky things to work with but Koback has a power arm if he can make some adjustments. Koback showed enough bat speed and offensive ability that he should be followed as an outfield prospect as well.
