Daniel Bassani is a 2005 shortstop/pitcher from Naples Florida with a slender frame the young look looking features at 6 ft. 0 170 pounds. He has a long, lofted swing plane. He makes solid contact, and he centers on the ball well. He had a nice round of BP, and showed decent power projection. Defensively, he showed a nice arm with good accuracy. He gets himself in position and he can make plays. He pitches from a high three quarter arm slot with early hand separation. He is mechanically sound and pitches in-line with a clean delivery. His fastball is pretty straight at 78 mph. He throws an 11-5 curveball at 65 mph. He hits his spots well and throws strikes. With added strength he could be a solid hitter at the next level. Daniel is a very good student.

Daniel Bassani is a 2005 from Naples, FL. He is a 6'0" middle infielder with polished actions and skills. His hands on defense are very soft and his release and transfers are very smooth and practiced. He couldn't show his full ability in the field, because he was suffering from summer football workouts (stiffness). He was limited to playing first base and hitting. Bassani hit very well in the games, going 3-6 while showing an aggressive, balanced swing and some good power potential as he gets stronger and learns to use his lower half more. Like many infielders we see at this age, Bassani is a multi sports guy and the football workouts were not conducive to putting up good running times or throwing times. He is a very good baseball player capable of playing at a high level. We would like to see him at his best. He's also a very good student.

Daniel Bassani -- Bassani is a medium bodied junior infielder from Florida. He’s a switch hitter who shows better bat speed and hitting mechanics from the right side of the plate. Bassani got our attention in one game when the opposing pitcher had struck out 5 of the last 6 hitters and Bassani knocked a solid single off a tough pitch. Defensively, Bassani doesn’t profile best to the middle of the field but some added strength on his athletic frame would make a real good fit at third. Bassani also threw 3 innings at the showcase, using a 75 mph fastball that he spotted well to get ahead for a big downer 61 mph curveball that was really a nice pitch. It’s a shame that Bassani doesn’t throw harder because no one really even sniffed his curve. Daniel is a very good student.

Daniel is an INF/P who's best tool is his bat. He showed some good power and turned on some good fastballs. He has a good swing from both sides of the plate. He ran a 7.57 60yd and threw 71 across the infield but plays better than his tools. He is a very steady infielder who can make the plays at SS. He also pitched topping out at 74. A very good baseball player with a big bat. He's only an "05".
