2006 Mid-Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Andrew Morgan is a 2007 RHP/3B/SS that attends McLean HS and resides in McLean, VA with a 6'4", 200 lb. frame. Andrew has a tall athletic build and showed solid tools across the board. On the mound Andrew throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm circle. Andrew has a good downhill plane in his delivery and gets nice run on his fastball. For his off-speed pitches Andrew showed a solid 10 to 4 CB and the making of a nice split. Andrew has good command and looks like a player that would throw harder than he does. With some more extension in his arm circle Andrew could see his velocity jump. At the plate Andrew is pretty raw but shows good strength and bat speed in his swing. He tends to dip his back shoulder too much and really needs to level his swing plane out. In the field Andrew showed good third base tools with a solid arm and clean actions. His size would make him need to stay at third or maybe move over to first base. Andrew is a player that could attract the attention of many small to mid-level college programs.
